The metals we work in, and what to expect from each.
Metals we use
| Metal | What it is |

| Sterling Silver | 92.5% silver. Bright, hard-wearing, and the metal most of our designs are made in. It darkens slowly in air, which is normal and cleans off. |
| 14K and 18K Gold | 14K is 58.5% gold and 18K is 75% gold, the rest being alloy for strength. 18K is richer in color and a little softer. |
| White Gold | Gold alloyed to a pale color. It is usually finished with rhodium, which wears thin over years of use and can be re-applied. |
| Bronze | A warm copper alloy, used on its own and alongside silver. |
| Stainless Steel and Titanium | Hard, light and very resistant to scratching. Used where a piece needs to take heavy daily wear. |

Hallmarks
Precious metal is marked with its content, for example 925 for sterling silver or 14K for gold. The mark is small and usually sits on the inside of a band or near a clasp.
